1. Calculate Your Points: First, you must calculate your points to see if you are eligible for the skilled visa. You can do this through the Department of Home Affairs’ points calculator.
2. Prepare Your Documents: Once you know you meet the points requirement, you must prepare the necessary documents needed to apply for the visa. This includes identity documents, language proficiency test results, and other documents as required by the Department of Home Affairs.
3. Submit Your Expression of Interest: Once you have your documents ready, you must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through Skill Select. This will include information about your skills, qualifications and work experience.
4. Receive an Invitation to Apply: Once the Department of Home Affairs reviews your EOI, they will send you an invitation to apply for the visa. You must apply within 60 days of receiving the invitation.
5. Submit Your Visa Application: Once you receive an invitation, you can submit your visa application. This will include several forms and documents that you must submit to the Department of Home Affairs.
6. Wait for a Decision: Once you submit your visa application, you must wait for the Department of Home Affairs to make a decision. This can take up to several months.
7. Receive Your Visa: If your visa application is successful, you will receive your visa and be able to travel to Australia.
This subclass of visa is for skilled workers who wish to migrate to Australia. It is a permanent residence visa that allows the holder to stay in Australia indefinitely and to work, study and access certain social security payments. The points test score is calculated based on the following criteria:

8. Family in Australia: Applicants who have family members who are Australian citizens or permanent residents living in Australia can receive additional points.
9. Community Language: Applicants who are proficient in an Australian community language can receive additional points.
10. Special Conditions: Applicants who meet certain special conditions may be eligible for additional points.
The total points score must be at least 65 for an applicant to be eligible for the subclass 190 visa.
