RCC has issued a second round of Express Entry invitations for candidates in STEM occupations, with 500 invited. The draw required a minimum CRS score of 486. The first category-based selection draw for STEM professions took place last week. IRCC will also invite 1,500 healthcare workers for permanent residence. The most recent category-based draw was on June 28 and an all-program draw on July 4, considering candidates in the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class, and Federal Skilled Trades Program.
Canada is prioritizing the invitation of skilled newcomers with STEM experience to meet the growing demand for talent and fill key positions contributing to economic growth and technological advancement. Eligible occupations include architects, business systems specialists, civil engineers, computer and information systems managers, computer engineers, cybersecurity specialists, data scientists, database analysts, electrical and electronics engineers, engineering managers, industrial and manufacturing engineers, information systems specialists, land surveyors, landscape architects, mathematicians, metallurgical and materials engineers, natural and applied science policy researchers, software developers, urban planners, and web designers. The category-based selection criteria were finalized by IRCC Minister of Immigration, Sean Fraser, and provincial and territorial governments.
