Three Canadian provinces have nominated candidates through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), increasing their chances of receiving an invitation to apply (ITA) for permanent residency. PNPs target economic immigration candidates who are likely to integrate into the provincial economy due to their profession, family connection, or strong intent to reside. Nova Scotia has updated its selection criteria for the Experience Stream, now only selecting international graduates who have completed their studies within the province.
The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) held its weekly draw on July 11th, inviting over 202 candidates in four draws targeting three streams. The largest draw included 152 candidates from Skilled Worker, International Graduate, and Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled streams. The remaining three draws targeted Skilled Workers and International Graduates, with minimum scores of 60 for each draw.
Manitoba issued 540 letters of advice to candidates in four draws, including two for skilled workers. The first draw was occupation-specific, inviting 205 candidates with scores of 604. The second draw was non-occupation-specific, inviting 237 skilled workers with scores of 661 and 661. The remaining draws invited 57 international education stream candidates and 41 skilled workers overseas.
New Brunswick issued 121 NB Express Entry draws in June, with 630 invitations issued in 2023. The program has received 28 employment connections, 64 student connections, and 29 occupations-demand connections.
