Why are there new Express Entry categories?


Immigration is seen as a key component for reducing labour shortages and growing the French language in French minority communities outside of Quebec. Changes to the Express Entry system will help businesses with labour shortages and increase the number of French-proficient candidates.

 

How were the categories chosen?


IRCC will report annually to Parliament on immigration categories.
